The Airbus A380 Needs as much room as possible when Landing so When Departs uses 23L because Its slightly longer than 23R and On landing It uses 23R because its ILS

im proud to be a resident of dubai... there were so many ppl amazed by the size of it

i put it down to landind and take off from the mobberley end as its not populated and was the a380 to belly flop better in woodland than of a populated area correct me if i am wron as this makes sense to me

@airshowvision Well 05L and 05R are both on the same heading so the wind explanation doesn't hold! ;P I think it's just MAN try to put her on the least busy runway wherever possible. She usually departs 23L too.

i was there today and i was confused when they were arriving on 05l and the a380 landed on 05r can you explain. and also great vid

I'm sorry but I dont understand the goings on at Manchester any more than you do> Maybe the A380 can only land in certain directions at this airport? or maybe the wind direction changed or something. Who knows???
