This is a great song, but the vowels could use work. The word "sound", for example.

A sweet rendition, though arranged for a formal choir, so that its original vigor is lacking . . . Maybe some of these young people will get to be at an authentic shape-note singing sometime and hear the amazing difference.

I love when people critique youtube vids of performances. This was good. I've never heard this arrangement.

aaaah vowels! open your throats! gaah.
it's so bright. there needs to be a darker quality to the tone for this piece.
other than that, the notes are on.
so.. there's that.

That was amazing. Great strong altos. But just watch you vowels so they don't get spread or else you'll sound like a hillbilly
