Looks very good! I think I would try mixing the butter and cake mix with a fork and then crumble it on top of the apples. That way, the butter would be a little more evenly distributed.

yeah, I made my first apple crisp today (w/ oatmeal). Next time No Sugaaarrr!!!!!!!!!!! grrrrr lol And I only added 5 tablespoons of turbinado sugar and it was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too sweet for me!

I slice and fry an apple in a frying pan with some oil, add cinnamon nutmeg clove and no sugar bc apples are sweet. It tastes just like it just a healthy version I guess ;)

I like to use granny smith apples for baking. You can really use any. Sometimes if you use apples that are sweet (McIntosh) you might not want to use as much sugar.
