A preview of "Glory Machines of the Grand Trunk Western" showing part of an aerial chase of ex-GTW 5629 in the 1960's. It was shot by Dick Baldwin on 16mm film. The sequence is longer in the actual program. The program is item 016-D in our list of titles.

So much in this video has vanished along with 5629--Chicago's Dearborn Station and its approaches, the GTW connection with the Chicago & Western Indiana at 49th Street, the F's and GP9's on the westbound freight waiting at Valparaiso, the Grand Trunk Western name itself (now just another Fallen Flag). So nice to see all of them again in this video.

Nice video. It's a shame she was cut up, although there are a couple of her sister engines still in existence. Since the 261 group is looking for a new engine, maybe they should restore one of these.

Also, in the clip around 1:10, was she wearing a NYC 6-chime? It sounds awfully like it.
