  • beautiful.

our hearts are always with you Jean...

  • A young John Cohen accompanying Jean Ritchie in 1954. John will be playing here in Eugene next month.

  • Hope you are feeling well Ms. Ritchie. I love your music and your contribution to Appalachian culture.

  • Wonderful. Simply wonderful.

  • Such a beautiful, simple gathering of family love & generational ties! It was wonderful to see the camera capture the faces of both young and old all singing this song. I have tears in my eyes!

  • Thank you so much for sharing this, Mr. Pickow! Jean Ritchie is one of my biggest influences as a singer.

  • Thank you for this! I hope one day to hear you and meet you in person. It would be such an honor! :-)

  • Jesus Christ, I left out George Pickow, who is an American hero, and among those who know what matters, an Irish hero!

  • Back in the 1970s I met this lovely lady. I was aware of what she had done for my country, Ireland, and what she had done for her own country and particularly for her own community. I was running a Traditional Music club in Slattery's in Capel Street . Diane Hamilton said ' Here's Jean Ritchie' ...I nearly swooned. She sang for us, enchanted us with her own mountain ballads and sat afterwards and talked. Long life, Jean and John!

  • Thanks for sharing this wonderful song!
