Wingnuts of the Week: Glenn Beck, Bill Maher & Racist Cop

The "Wingnuts of the Week" for the week of July 27: On the left: Bill Maher for saying America is "a stupid country"; on the right: Glenn Beck for suggesting President Obama is "a racist"; and an honorable mention for Boston police officer Justin Barrett for indistinctly referring to Professor Henry Louis Gates as a "jungle monkey."

Says Avlon in this piece: "Some of these wingnut comments are great for ratings, but not good for the country."

Also, Carol Costello suggests that "Glenn Beck isn't going to want to have a teachable moment."

Maher is right--Americans are stupid and glorify ignorance and elevate the uneducated. He has nothing to apologize for, he is simply stating a fact. The fact that Palin has attracted so many followers is living proof!

Bill Maher made the point that Avalon makes in his book. Palin is a HUGE wingnut under Avalon's own terms and the fact that Sarah Palin could be elected president makes the United States a stupid country. He isn't saying everyone is dumb, he is saying the character of the States, who voted in Bush, has the Republicans in Congress by voting 'No', etc is a gullible country. It's unfortunate John Avlon fancies himself an independent when he sits on the fence telling everyone to lower their voice.
