Mt. Baker (Komo Kulshan) is in the northwest corner of Washington state and sits at 3,285 metres (10,778 feet). Unfortunately the area is also open to snowmobiles so there's a constant amount of noise, smoke and damage in nearly every direction up to about 2,100 metres (7,000 feet) . You'd think with gasoline at nearly $4.50 a gallon, in Washington state, "recreationists" would want to burn a little less fuel?

Here's my personal web page on the off road vehicle menace:

  • really? zeekzlich i suppose you don't drive anywhere??? i have to disabled children that we take frequently to the mountains snowmobiling. people like you really are two faced !!!! you live in LA and let me guess you don't even own a car .how about this next time you go to wipe your ass with that tree product don't do it just tuck and suck. you make me sick !!!!! its sad my children have to share this planet with hypocrites like yourself .

There are now 7 Billion humans ravaging this precious little planet. We really don't need anymore shopping malls, airports, parking lots, or snowmobiles trashing pristine wilderness. Your children, whether disabled or not, already have vehicular access to 98 percent of the lower 48. They'll be just fine if there are a few natural places that they have to walk to or simply can't access. Your children don't have to be raised as sheep - they, too, can learn to love the natural world.

  • all you guys on ski's ruin all the fucking trails for us snowmobilers. how about you find a place were it does not involve us in your tree huggin sport. heres the way it should be. if the trail is open for both. do not complain about us snowmobilers. i see more skiers get hurt because they are in our trail.

  • @lovemyskidoo

Why not simply close Mt. Baker to all motorized traffic? It's a lovely place that doesn't need the mess that's being created there.

  • If i were there i'd be doing donuts around you fucking faggot ass greenies. Suck my dick the mountains were made for anything. Don't tell me to get off my ass and riding a vehicle because the way i ride a snowmobile is 5x more exercise than walking up anything could ever be. You're a little bitch, keep whining cause nothing is gunna be done you clown. Give up on life you fairy.

  • Glad to see the sled community being pretty easy on these whining a**holes

  • @Harvey7878 seriously doubt riding a snowmobile up a mountain is more exercise than hiking up

Survivalists know that the world will end for the weak. Most survivalists know the world will get harder to live in. It already has. People I know of finance their sled on an FHA loan and then get forgiven. I can't justify spending that much on a toy. Sleds are nothing but a toy. What else are they for. I also can't justify spending that much time on an activity that does nothing for my fitness. There's no comparisson to what XC skiing can do for fitness. I ski 300+ a year.

  • @AugustusLarch

I should of clarified about cars, The catalytic converters burn up most of the non burnet fuel but the condenser for the heating and cooling always have oils in it when it releases the water. and most sledders don't finance the sleds they usually buy them outright. The new style sleds like the Ski Doo Rev XP handle like there on rails, and there is no comparison between the modern sleds and the old Indys from the 90"s. And don't survivalists think the worlds about to end.

  • @caledonrevxp

The differnce is that cars have a pipe that extends outside of the cabin.

I am not a hippie but a survivalist. That's a pole opposite. Just because the currency is crashed doesn't mean that you have exta merit for borrowing a crap load of dough for a pile of assembled parts. I Don't like sledds. they handle like crap and stink like hell. I went for 50 mile tour once on an Indy Trail. My coveralls smelled like oil and exhaust afer many washings.

    Try skiing 300 miles.

  • @AugustusLarch

A 2 stroke snowmobile does have some oil spray out of the exhaust but a car also leaks oil and gas. When they idle after a cold start they do smoke a lot but when the engine is warmed up they burn fairly clean with low smoke and smell especially with the new EFI. Plus you can't call sledders dumb because we have to work hard for are money so we can pay for a $10-15K sled and another couple $k just to keep it running and insurance every year. Something a hippie wouldn't understand
