Смотрел все три видео полная инструкция по полёту на самолёте с огромным интересом-действия по запуску мотора управлению очень похожи за запуск двигателя на старых авто и мотоциклах .

I do not speak russian. But in spite, I have nearly understood everything. The moviepictures and graphics explain themselves without words. That's a brilliant documentation about a famous ground attack aircraft.

Pull the lever back, plane goes up. forward it goes down etc. Now get to work, fully trained pilotski!

@mbandarra3 Ground attack aircraft. Very tough plane. Massive armour protection for pilot, aircrew, engine and fuel tanks. Killed a lot of German Armour so we in the west didn't have to when we eventually started to help. The IL-2 and the T34 basically won the war!
Of course there were other contributors, but the Soviets did the bulk of the work!
:O)

@WVrrus Thanks for the info & video!

@mbandarra3 - there are few still operational, but none are used for military purposes since 1954.
And, it's not a "fighter". And never meant to be. It's full-metal short-range bomber, protected by about a ton (~1000kg) of steel armor. German pilots called it "Zementbomber", "Fleischwolf", even "Schwarzer Tod". Its modification, il-10M, was used by north koreans in the korean war, despite jet fighters around (and actually good old Mustang was a bit more efficient against il-10s, anyways).

Check out the book MY COUSIN KILLED HITLER, based on the story of Marshal Zhukov. It tells a family secret about him. If only Hitler knew that one of those he hunted became the hunter instead.

Decisive plain, best aeronautic concept from USSR at all I think.
Too bad I don't understand a single word - I don't speak Russian, unfortunately.
Thanks for uploading anyways!

they fly low level, great armor

I kind of figured they'd end the film with a quote by Stalin.
