Georges Laraque is a lover and a fighter. With a reputation for violence on the ice, and a compassion for animals and the environment, he is a force to be reckoned with. As the NHL's only "openly vegan" player, he challenges the notion that you need to eat meat to be strong. He talks about veganism, Haiti, politics, and a dream for the future. Interview by Toby Heaps. Produced by Jon-Erik Lappano. www.corporateknights.ca
This is an eye opening video. This goes to show you that a professional athlete who makes millions is remembered and viewed most beneficially by his activity after retirement. True, lot of rich people will donate $ toward a better cause once they've made enough, just to say they did. But Georges seems passionate about his vegan stance (eliminating animal cruelty) and standing up for values that he thinks are important on a daily basis, by living constantly with those principles.
