  • I see no "upper hand: at all. I shake hands vertically. I could care less if someone wants to twist it up, I have usually prejudged them before the handshake anyway. Nowadays, most people want to perform the "bro hug" anyway, so I am too preconceived with shuddering to notice any sort of slight of hand with the "dominating" handshake. Oh well, whatever makes you feel "dominant."

  • Alrighty. Good luck with that.

  • Wow..that was professional. Quick reply though.

I think the difference is in the environment that you are applying this technique. This might bode well in a corporate world or in retail, but I work construction. If someone were to knowingly apply an undeserved dominating handshake, they would likely get their wrist twisted. All subliminal thoughts aside, if the person couldn't perform their job, they and their dominating handshake would be getting their money and hitting the road.

  • Same to you. And , nobody is arguing. I am honestly too tired at this point to get into a long drawn out philosophical argument. If you like the ideas great, if not, thats fine as well.

Even in construction there are uses for this. You can find them if you wish to be creative enough.

    Thanks for your input.

  • What programming technique does the speaker say Obama uses in his speeches? It seems fascinating and I am interested in learning about that technique.

  • He is using something called, NLP- Neuro Linguistic Programming...its a form of conversational hypnosis. There are too many techniques that he uses to really believe that it is by accident or natural. Many experts believe he has had some form of coaching or training but of course, that is all speculation. Look it up, "Neuro Linguistic Programming."

  • This would probably be interesting if I could understand a single word the guy was saying.

Next time give him a microphone.

  • A guy whom i use to work with did the dominant handshake to me when i bumped into him. It look strange and i remember stalling. Then decided to proceed with the shake. Now i understand what he was trying to achieve and the type of character he was trying to portray. Interesting. This is the first time I've experienced this. And it will stay with me forever

  • Try turning up your speakers or the volume. We can hear just fine. Although a mic def wouldnt hurt.

  • Nope it wont. Thanks for your input. feel free to comment again in the future.
