The engine is wired straight from the coal car now. The voltage coming out of the board may have been less, but I don't recall checking and comparing the two.

You must spent a small forturne in track! How did you get the door to work?

Most of the track came with the trains. The gate works with a photo-eye.

I have this same train, though I'm wondering, why does your seem so much faster than mine? Did you modify its speed or increase voltage somehow? Very nice layout, by the way :)

That's pretty cool with the automated gate like the ones on the Cascade Tunnel!

Wait. I thought the controller has to be in the range of the locomotive. How does it run without the controller?????
