Thanks to the wonderful people of Germany...
Dank der wunderbaren Menschen in Deutschland...

Soldiers of the 630th Military Police Company traveling around Schweinfurt, Grafenwoehr, Ochenkopf, Little Swiss, Munich, Nurnberg & Garmisch Germany.

This is a flag lowering ceremony that took place on the main post of Grafenwoehr, sometime around January 2001. The bugle call before the cannon fires is Retreat and the bugle call following is To The Colors.

  • US - Army, die beste Armee der Welt!

  • @vr6insider It was a pleasure to live in Germany... es war ein Vergnügen , in Deutschland zu leben

  • Boy, I remember those Cold Days in Grafenwoehr, Germany...This was SGT Bell with the 630th MP Co in 2002

  • @MrBenPGraham Oh yes, Graf could get mighty cold. What a great place for a training area. I left the 630th in the summer of 2001. I thought it was a pretty good unit... still do. Were you in Bamberg or Schweinfurt?

  • times like this is when I miss my Dad, a WWII vet. He passed away late last year at the age of 94. Was in the field artillery in Europe during WWII. He always remembered the bugle calls.

  • @mgmmac36 So sorry to read about your father's death. Living to 94 is an amazing triumph. The bugle calls are an important part of military life, especially before modern communications like radios.
