  • What is the max efficient can be achieved? (assume you had a smooth moving part and very low friction loss)?

  • How do you calculate maximum efficiency?

  • You can do better without the moving parts. An all electronic version wouldn't lose power into the friction and would be more efficient. It would be less interesting to watch because without moving parts all you would see is the voltage on the output climbing rapidly.

  • I don't know how to induce a current in a coil without moving the magnets (Lenz's Law) or how to rotate a shaft without moving parts. How do I construct an all electronic version?

  • Your comment,"You can do better without the moving parts", is what baffles me.

    I am able to induce a current in the coil by allowing the magnetic pistons to attract to each other with a coil between them. This also provides a shaft rotation for 180 degrees. While the BEMF is removed from the coil, the current to the coil pushes the magnets apart completing the 360 degree rotation. The BEMF and the induced current are collected in the capacitor.

    This is the purpose of the moving parts.

  • The point you seem to be missing is that to take the magnets back apart, you need to put energy into the system. The magnets only serve as an energy storage to your system.

    In electronics the magnet's effect would be replaced by holding a charge in a capacitor. The motion would be replaced by discharging the capacitor into a coil. All of the mechanical effects can be directly replaced by electrical ones.

  • This makes the 3rd time I have tried to post more information here. feed "dc to dc converter" into google. More if this posting works.
