I'm on the side of the firemen for certain. I'm not condeming you or what you've said. It's just that the government regulations in things like this absurd. Do they make ya'll (I'm from the south)take all the stuff out of every house that "really" is on fire?

The EPA make us remove items from the house that would burn making "Toxic" smoke. So, stuff like carpet, plastics, etc. must go before the fires are started.

Isn't that kinda silly? All smoke is toxic. Smoke is the product of incomplete combustion. The smoke from all those brush/ vegetation fires happening in southern California can kill someone just as much as the smoke from burning plastic.

Yup, totally agree with your thinking, but that's typical government over regulation for ya. We have to comply with those rules. It's getting to the point were we most likely will not be able to do any burns in the near future. Firefighters will just have to learn by experience on their first real fire.
