I didn't watch Guiding Light for very long (1989-1992) but Roger Thorpe was the absolute best villian ever on a daytime drama. He makes Victor Newman, Sheila Carter, and Stephanie Forrester look like church mice in comparison. I like to think that Michael Zaslow, Beverlee McKinsey, Darlene Conley, and Terry Lester are all up there somewhere acting in that big daytime drama in the sky.

Yes, I agree w/ you. Guiding Light is my favorite show ever, but they will never be able to make up for what they did to him.

GL firing Michael Zaslow was not only a bad move because it was wrong to treat an actor that way but because it was a missed opportunity storyline-wise. Roger having ALS would have been an amazing story.

Michael Zaslow was a class act. His good looks, wit and acting skills made him one of (if not) the best on the daytime soaps. R.I.P., Michael. We love you and miss you!

Michael Zaslow was the one and ONLY Roger Thorpe. What an awesome actor !

This would be most enjoyable if it was in sync.

Before they disabled the sound, I heard this, and it was and is a beautiful tribute to Michael Zaslow. I feel so heart broken that we can not listen to this. PLEASE Let us hear this. A huge fan of GL

The people at GL were "scared" to deal with this disease. Michael was such a powerful actor, that seeing him being a shell of his former self was too hard. Also, GL are notorious for discriminating against African-Americans, "Older Actors", and "Veterans". Don't you notice that none of Michael's "former" colleauges are on the show now?

That's pretty much a descripton of all soaps, expect Y&R... and DAYS to a lesser extent. African-Americans, veterans, and seniors are always given no story or not present at all on most soaps, unfortunately.
