The tune name of this hymn is Hyfrodol and is most often heard during the Easter season.

While the music is joyous we know that the path to our freedom was by the cross. Each day we take up our own cross or pass by those bearing theirs.

Say hello to a stranger as you pass by, smile at a child, visit your neighbor. When you look into the faces of the sick, the homeless, the lonely, see the face of Jesus looking directly into your eyes. Be the light that breaks through darkness and trust Jesus to radiate a brilliant light through your soul.

Alleluia! Sing to Jesus;
His the scepter, His the throne;
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark the songs of peaceful Zion
Thunder like a mighty flood:
Jesus out of ev'ry nation
Has redeemed us by His blood.

Alleluia! Not as orphans
Are we left in sorrow now;
Alleluia! He is near us;
Faith believes, nor questions how.
Though the cloud from sight received him
When the forty days were o'er,
Shall our hearts forget His promise;
I am with you evermore
