@foncelia - This happened on a regular basis in the early 1980's. I am assuming you are talking about BB& Q's 'On the Beat". Another example was "You're the One for Me" by D-Train, which was kind of ripped off by Trilark's "Love Never Looked Better on Handshake/CBS Records. That was in 1982.. Prior to that Chic sued The Sugarhill Gang for ripping off their "Good Times" bassline in "Rapper's Delight".

Brandi was just as dynamic performing live. Enjoyed her recordings and shows. She had a beautiful personality, too. Mr. P another Philly singer is posted, too. Mr. P -Over & Over. Knew them both.
