OK, this movie wasn't scary at all, death scenes were predictable but the atmosphere, great acting made it look very respectable. Another thing I loved about this movie was that it gave a new face to vampires. They are not undead creatures in capes that fly around romanticizing humans. They are blood thirsty creatures who look and act like animals.

@fairnorth - sorry to say it but in my opinion the second part was more than weak. It started really nice then it got worst and worst with vampire hunters who failed like little kids in their first real hunt, with a vampire shot in the head through the visor (I saw that coming a mile away) with illogical choices in the story and weak characters. This had potential and they just blew it. The first one was a great vampire flick 'tho, hat down.

Excellent ! I just got finished watching the long awaited sequel called "30 Days Of Night: Dark Days". It was fantastic ! The different locations added a new freshness, the opening scene, where the vampires are exposed to a shocked college student audience is awesome ! The vampires in the sequel have learned English ! Fans of the original will love the flashback scenes that contains the best scenes from the first film ! Other surprises exist too ! Bring on more "Dark Days" !!
