What i have to say:
Sonnet 116 is [according to my English teacher] one of those poems that people like to play at weddings. I did my research on this sonnet [of course] and its famous for the narrator's use of diction. I have to agree that this is probably one of the sweetest sonnets I've read by Shakespeare but i highly disagree with the narrator. I, however, strongly believe he gives too much credit to "love" as he defines it as a perpetual force that neither bends to time nor shaken by "impediments" and i insist that love changes because the ones that are loved change, while the love that's been bestowed on them was originally for the past them and wasn't intended for the future them.
There are lots of posts on Sonnet 116, some absolutely dreadful, but I really liked this one, especially your imagery. I thought your 'tempest' was brilliant, and the departing soldier really poignant. Well done. (P.S. But Shakespeare really doesn't need Avril Lavigne, don't you think, wonderful performer though she is?)
