Songs like this, and movies like this were legion in the 80s. Surviving the waning days of the 70s, the 80s were like coming out of a nightmare where everyone and everything around you mocked, frustrated and belittled you, into a morning reality where the world was a bright new toy full of endless possibilities. If you didn't live through it, you can never fully understand what we've lost since then.
