I disagree, magic is an art of entertainment, as long as you acheive positive reactions and you are entertaining people what does it matter that you used a trick deck. think about it, your job is to entertain the spectator, not show off your skill

I have a $1.00 svengali deck, that was probbaly the lamest trick you could do with it, because you can it do with a normal deck.

when I do it i'm not like "Omg, look it's normal" cuz that kinda shows that it's not.

I do show them there all diffrent but I sneak around so I dont have to make the statement that they are.

i think it will be more effective by not cutting the deck to show the card is rising to the top, coz the audience might thin u held a break or sth. reply if u agree!

I think that depends on your environment and spectators. I usually perform standing magic at my school and since its a high school all of the dudes have way too much testosterone and always try to catch me so they can be better than me or something. I simply prefer impromptu because of how clean it is and you can still achieve great effects.

Sometimes though, gimmicks are fun :D

Yeah, I get the point that you're trying to make. However, if you are a good enough magician, you should be able to swap the deck for a duplicate ungimmicked deck.

get loads of decks :P loads and get one different deck with slightly shorter cards

u simply say "see with your eyes not with your hands " or if you spread all the cards out they wont notice i have one of these decks no one ever notices

@Elusionist101 can you hand out the deck? nope...therefore you will not get the same level of astonishment as being able to achieve this with a regular deck of cards or even a borrowed deck.

I would have to agree with TunedUPGuitar this is pretty lame...If you cannot use a normal deck of cards and blow your audience away then do not resort to using cheap trick decks that serve no purpose....
