  • My dad bought our three bed, one bath house on an acre just outside of the city for $13,000 in '74. $10,000 WAS a lot of money.

  • Ahh, back when GSN decided not to crunch the credits...

  • @WarriorWeek87 True. I remember my whole family watching some of the first few episodes of Sesame Street. I can't completely explain why. It was just so different from anything else that was on at the time. And some of the humor did appeal to adults. Anyway, yes, it was a big deal at the time, and I think asking that question on Match Game in the 70's was a real giveaway.

  • @bcollegestar ... One must remember how HUGE phenomenon Sesame Street was back in the 70s! It was much more in the public eye than it is today (and deservedly so!)...

  • @ghrpdx $10K is still a lot of money. It just doesn't buy much anymore.

  • @SuperGamer7 Thanks, I'll check them out. And Merry Christmas this Christmas eve.

  • @reno93535 They're still here, all of them, really!

  • @bcollegestar If you had kids at home, that's where you would say sesame street.

  • I didn't think of street at all.

I was absolutely CONVINCED it would be Sesame Seeds.

  • I had 2 possibilities for "Sesame____." They are Sesame St. and Sesame Seeds.

  • A lot of money, probably a couple thousand bucks
