A tribute to Harrisburg Line locals, H49 on 4/6/08 with NS GP38-2 5643 and NS High-Hood GP38-2 5125 on the rear. H49 crosses the "Amtrak" defect detector at MP 46.9. Then on 4/14/08 H31 heads west by MP 74 with NS High-Hood SD40-2 3294 (formerly Central of Georgia) and NS High-Hood GP38-2 5025 with a sizable local train. H31 also passes by a stopped 16T. In the same afternoon, H48 returns from placing a load of ballast cars in CP Dorf siding with NS Dash-8-40CW 8371, nice Leslie RS3L, and Conrail SD60 NS 6702, with also a nice Leslie RS3L, although my shot of H48 going east was ruined by the sun. :(

  • great video!!!!! is that your CB or what are they called?

  • Are you refering to my scanner, which with I can pick up railroad conversations?

  • Eric, Your vids just keep getting better and better, great job on this one! We really should do the N.E. Corridor sometime. It's a blast! 5*!

  • Thanks!

I was actually thinking the Amtrak corridor between Philly and Harrisburg, there are lots of sceneric places along the line, especially in summer when the crops are beginning to rise.

  • Nice video.

I'm curious...why is that called the "Amtrak" detector?

  • Amtrak in this area uses detectors with that remote voice, this is the only one like this on NS in PA of that I know.
