One of my favorite eras of music is the Renaissance/Early Baroque (the other being contemporary, post-tonal). Although the music is now several centuries old, there is (to me, at least) a fresh, innocent quality about it that is quite charming even today.

This is a piece that has as many versions as there are performers who play it, and I play this Canarios as a companion to the Pavane by the same composer in a set of Baroque pieces that I am preparing for a recital. This is another of those pieces that I just love too much to put on a shelf for too long; it has a way of working itself back into my repertoire quite frequently.

I've heard performers play it much faster, but I prefer the moderate tempo in which it is recorded here...I hope you enjoy it as well.

  • This piece has been a favorite of mine as long as I remember. Never got it up to your recital-standard though. But you play it very much as I would.

  • @kbaronshaffer thanks for the explication, but the tone is good , i play a yamaga cg171s, it sells in 400 dolars, and i use sonatina equinox titanium strings, and it put in my guitar extreme power .

i think, equinox maybe is better than ddadario , in my guitar...
