B-17 "Aluminum Overcast" Flight June 2011 at Centennial Airport.

The Experimental Aircraft Association believes the best way to see a vintage aircraft like the B-17 WWII Bomber is in person...and in the air. It's why "Aluminum Overcast" is touring the country making a stop at Centennial Airport in Colorado in association with Wings over the Rockies Air and Space Museum.

In this video, you'll see exactly what everyone who flies aboard the aircraft gets to see when they make a flight.

We'll be shooting more video this week, look for a more polished version when we're done shooting. We always spend multiple days with Aluminum Overcast, this was just one afternoon.

We also respectfully dedicate this video to another B-17, "Liberty Belle" which was lost in a crash near Chicago this week. Thanks to the skillful crew, no one was injured. One less B-17 to represent The Great Generation.

I rode on Saturday from Madison--thanks for the video that let me relive the howling brakes and roar of the Wright Cyclone radials. And thanks again to the crew and volunteers. Also, my heart goes out to the "family" of the Liberty Bell. It's a heartbreaker, but glad everyone got out OK.
