her voice was dubbed...but I wonder what her real singing voice sounded like...I think I read that she said that she could not sing and so the studio dubbed her voice in.

Who could ever forget that scene in "A Song Is Born" when she extends her gorgeous leg for Danny Kaye to check out? VM had great legs, every bit as good as Betty Grable's, another blond gorgeous star.

A nice tribute to one of the most beautiful ladies ever to grace the screen. As a child, I fell in love with her the first time I saw her in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, on TV. My infatuation with her never waned. I doubt we'll see her type of unique beauty ever again.

You too, eh? Ms. Mayo-along with Priscilla Lane (Arsenic and Old Lace) and Ginger Rogers (It Had To Be You) - comprised my "Big 3" movie sweetheart crushes when I began noticing the birds and the bees. Virginia Mayo was the most alluring hottie, though.
