At the end of July 2010, young British East Asians from across the UK gathered at ALRA in South London to experience a week of drama school training.
16 participants for the first Yellow Academy Acting Summer Camp were selected from over 50 young hopefuls across the country. The students experienced first hand the intensity and hard work that goes into acting training with daily movement and voice classes, stage combat and textual studies.
The intensive week culminated in a showcase on Friday evening. Extracts taken from Yellow Earth's playreading festival 'Typhoon' were performed by the students under the careful direction of Kwong Loke (Yellow Earth) and Robert Swinton (ALRA).
