China was preparing for a "severe, long-lasting drought," according to one official. The wheat crop in the country's breadbasket to the north and east is threatened, with no rain in sight. (Feb. 9)

@GuanYu89 This is not a problem created by their govt, but stock exchange and real estates bubbles are. Sun brings heat and it also bring electricity. Chinese who don't idle their minds for boredom of living won't leave them uncultivated for intelligent usages. Creative Chinese youths have passion and talent we all shared.

Solar concentrator technologies can help China to filter sea water into a lot of minerals and clean water and then sip them into inland for farms and electricity. Chinese needs to use the high speed rail networks to generate electricity as well. They have to make more compact designs for their solar and wind energy devices so they can be polled up flexibly anywhere in their rail networks and freeways.

China should invest more money in water conservation, it looks like drought and floods would become more common. Food crisis could become a reality in 10 years or so as world population reaches 8 billion, and food production stagnates or decreases.

make food growing part of schooling.today school kids are so ignorant they wouldnt last long if real food shortage hits.harness their natural curiosity on animals,plants,vegetables,cows­,chicken and other domesticated animals at least.give em marks for milking,cooking and kitchen gardening.masanobu fukuoka was right.
