Artist: Ken Hensley
Song: Send Me An Angel
Album: Cold Autumn Sunday
Year: 2005
Lyrics:
Everynight, I hit the streets
All alone burnin with the need
Broken dreams and
An empty heart have got me
I need a lover with a lot of heart
Its so hard when youre in the dark
And no ones there
To help you find your way

I keep running in the night
Searchin for the light
Cryin for someone to rescue me

Wont you send me, send me an angel
Send me, send me an angel
Send me an angel tonight, tonight

Keep lookin but I can't see
Listen hard but I dont believe
Is this the way it really has to be?
Say youre in or count me out
I cant live without all this doubt
Save my life with a single word

And Im out here in the dark
I dont know where to start
Begging for my feelings to be heard

  • I enjoy this version of the song too but I am not sure I like it better than Blackfoot's version because Blackfoot has a better edge to it..

Having said that I am glad Rick and Ken went separate ways because when Ken joined Blackfoot, the sound of the band changed from the Southern Rock sound to mainstream pop. It was not Blackfoot.

Ken is definitely a brilliant musician.

  • @woolybearrrr And he's still alive. I saw him 2 weeks ago, when he came in my country to give a concert.. That was amazing ))) Had a chance to meet him personally... He is hard smoker, drinks a lot of coffee and is always reading something ...

  • Love both the Blackfoot and Hensley solo version. Ken alters the lyric slightly here altering the meaning of the song.

  • Blackfoot's version is much better! But must asay that Siogo is a GREAT record!!!! I wish I could talk my band into doing 4-5 covers from that record!!! That is rock'n'roll!!!

  • ken hensley is the high and mighty.he shook my hand at the show in donetsk, and my wife made a joke-/dont wash your hands through the week/

  • Hensley is the co-writer of this tune. Definitely prefer the Blackfoot version. As for Blackfoot going pop with Hensley aboard, that was not until "Vertical Smiles," Hensley's second album with them. "Siogo" is very much a Blackfoot album, at least to my ears.
