  • The green one should be a 1st generation model P-223.

  • It is. This video was made when I was first getting into vintage box fans. Now I pretty much have Lakewood's model number system down pat.

  • what kind of fan is that in ur window? i saw it at 5:27

  • Toastmaster (McGraw Edison) 2 speed electrically reversible with thermostat and shroud

  • You know, I just remembered an avocado P-23 that was on ebay a long time ago. It looked exactly like your 1st gen plastic bladed fan, only with the P-23 blades. It was a Country Aire. It had the Country Aire logo in the corner of the grille like your Windsor. Maybe this fan is a Country Aire?

  • It is the same exact fan, just different colors and the Country Aire logo.

That fan I am also after because that is the very fan my grandmother had when I was growing up. She had a 2 speed and 3 speed version of it.

The Windsor I came across while search for said fan, and since it was mint in the box, I got it. I love the teal and baby blue color scheme of the Windsor as well.

  • The lakewood fans I had when I was a baby had sharp edges (THe blades are just like the one on the left though).

  • SO Spats, looks like you're a fan of fans...and I thought I was bad.

Can you tell us WHY Lakewood box fans can no longer be found at Wal-Mart, Home Depot and seemingly every other major retail store in New England? Lakso (Lasko?) seems to have taken over, but I'll NEVER buy one, as their fans are made overseas, which may have just answered my question, eh? Lakewood are FAR superior and are made here in the USA in Chicago, but maybe only Ace can get the price that's necessary today?

  • My first box fan was the 200i.

  • I finally got some real box fans! I got now:

    Pencrest 100

    Kmart 223

2 Eskimo boxfans and one plastic bladed edison box fan.

  • 90's they wer the 1st gen 200i. Then the second gen was the brace bladed version. It is the late 80's as I found out. 1986.
