The Select is a compact but versatile laser welding system featuring manual, semi-automatic (teach mode) and full CNC operation of a 100 Watt YAG laser. This all in one solution is versatile and affordable. Contact http://www.rofin.co.uk for more information, or to see a demonstration.

  • I'm a master laser welder and welding engineer. What is the maximum average wattage available of this machine model?

  • Steve, the laser featured has 100W average power (120 Joules max. and 12 kW peak power) - it has a bigger brother called the Integral with 200W average and the same peak power.

  • I'm confused, on teh deposit welding I didn't see any material added. maybe i have a differnt definition of deposit weding?

  • Hi, thanks for your comment the material is fine wire (diameter 0.4mm) which is deposited by hand - you can see it in the last 10 seconds of the video.

  • @rofinbaasel lol, really? it seems that since its a laser it would hurt more if that happened.

  • i dont understand what this machine can do..

  • I think the narration is quite good. What seems to be missing?

  • what is the best way to avoid "chipping" during machining? turning or grinding. grade 420 ss. .015" wire

  • He is not using gloves at the beginning - they are actually "cuffs" which prevent stray laser light from being viewed by anyone outside the laser. When his hands are inside the laser they are not protected - however the laser beam is infra-red (so only danger is heat) - compared to a soldering iron or scalpel blade the laser is considerably "safer". I have hit myself with the laser on many occassions and the worst you can say is "ouch".

  • have to say its one of rofins better machines out there.
