Boxing is a part of mma, boxing is not dead or dying. no one goes around saying that jiu jitsu, wrestling or muay thai are dying and they are parts of mma. Why is everyone so desperate to make this comparison.

@rperez933 Boxing is already a part of MMA... Which combat sport is more entertaining? I'd say a full body sport such as MMA!

@ironjohn03 That's because the sport of boxing is predates television & you are comparing it to a sport less than two decades old. I grew up watching only boxing out of lack of options, I wish there was a full body combat sport when I was growing up. Simple truth, you can know longer call yourself the best fighter in the world if you can't defend simple leg kicks & takedowns. Even the people who came from other professions you mentioned had a wrestling or other martial arts backgrounds.

Comparing MMA to Boxing is like comparing, airsoft vs paintball, bruce lee vs jet li, jet li vs jackie chan, ps3 vs xbox, US military vs Russian Military, Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. its an infinite debate for all time win or loss, it'll never end!

but in terms of professionalism, you can't deny the fact that ALL boxers out there (I dare every boxers you can name of) were born for the sport of it. born with a family of boxers, father and uncle former pro boxers, cousins and brothers former pro boxers, has been boxing since their early teens and turned pro even before their legal age. while in mma, some of the fighters(if you want to call them fighters) came from another profession switching to mma just because of fame.

the guy in black is right mma is young, in the younger years of boxing boxers dont get millions of dollars, and mma now winning the fans of new generation, kids will love mma than boxing, there is no way you can call yourself the best fighter if you dont know how to defend simple leg kicks
