悪魔城ドラキュラX/Dracula X (PC Engine/ PCエンジン): Maria Reinard Demo

Anyone who's played Castlevania: SotN Sega Saturn version and is familiar with Maria, this is the same one except when she was younger. She was kidnapped by Dracula along with her sisters, but when rescued by Richter, she's determined to take on Dracula.

You get her in level 2 when you start fresh new data. She has alot of advantages such as sliding double jump to reach higher spots and best yet, used to bypass extraneous portions of stages you're forced to go through when you use Richter. Instead of the "holy artillery" that Richter has, her special weapons are devastatingly cute animals, and that almost completely changes the whole theme of the game. But if used properly, you'll discover how broken she really is. Her standard weapon (doves) as well as a special move she has (which I yet know how to pull off) can practically kill a boss in no time!

Dracula X is one of the best of all the Castlevania series ever. I remember spending MANY hours trying to open up all the levels and saving all of the characters on this game. PCE rules!

stron attack is called guardian fist on d pad up-left-down-right very fast and then attack button

Special move is accomplished by holding up then performing a quarter circle forward (a la the Hadoken in street fighter) followed by the attack button. It's pretty crushing.

I think the reason the SNES version sucked is because, back in the day, neither company wanted to shell out the big bucks required to make this game 'correctly' on a cartridge system. Aside from the audio, the SNES could have easily handled this game. It would've required a large capacity cart (those didn't really come until later), and possibly one of the add-on chips if they wanted to do fast real-time graphics decompression. Also, comparing the 65c816 to a z80 isn't fair, even at the same MHz
