Another custom 4BT Cummins powered H1 Hummer conversion from Diesel Depot. This 1992 H1 originally came with a 6.2L GM diesel and a th400 non-overdrive automatic transmission. Now it has a 4BT 3.9L Cummins with an HY-35 Holet turbo, high-flow injectors, and a 3200 RPM governor spring, and ceramic coated pistons. Also, we installed an overdrive 4L80E transmission with a full manual shift valve body.

  • I'll bet. I've read that it puts out around 130bhp and around 400 ft-lbs of torque @ low rpm. That's not bad for a vehicle like this Hummer. Anything that it fits comfy into should have that engine in it. I can see something like this driving a Toyota Land Cruiser diesel It gets better torque and it gets better gas mileage than a gasoline engine.

  • why a 4BT? I would think a 6 cylinder b series Cummins would fit.

  • @ThePaulgregg I have a Military AM General deuce and a half and I drive that thing around a few days a week and I have no trouble driving it around. But people ask me all the time "why do you drive that around" I kinda waht to tell people to fu** off and mine their own business but Im not that kind of person.

  • its strange that you dont see the smoke come out of the exhaust pipe like other diesel trucks do, and also that is one nice H1 I wish I can get rid of my deuce and a half and get a H1

  • How much was the total conversion cost?

  • is that desert tan color?

  • how much

  • @lacrosseman706 weight? the 4BT weighs 700lbs and the 6BT weighs slightly over 1000lbs.

  • @ThePaulgregg no such law.

  • I didn't think the gov't would allow citizens to operate a military hummer on any public road? Is there a way around that law? My understanding is that u can buy one but u can't register or anything. Basically a back road buggy or lawn ornament.
