my hdd seems crashed and doesnt work....
the brand is Western Digital.
the model number is WD2000BB which is a 200GB HDD.

  • The sound is the arm slamming against the stop in the actuator assembly.

    This usually follows from a head crash or servo trouble.

  • This sounds exactly like an issue I had with a WD Protege (see my video response) a while back.

  • @cutmullets good luck installing windows 7 on your 60,000 floppies! please insert disk # 10,423 then press enter to continue

  • The arm sounds like its hitting the disc holder.

  • What is that sound? What is hitting/scraping/mangling/warp­ing/ what? Sounds like data is being forcibly removed from the drive as I watch...!

  • This happend in my modded Xbox. I sent it back under warenty and got a replacement for free.
