(Part 1 of 3) How to get homebrew channel:

Edit: 9/7/10 For any of the wii 4.3 users who got HB channel from the other guys video. DONT DOWNLOAD THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL IN MY VIDEO. His is better and more up to date!!!!

**Before you start reading there's just one thing i need to say. You are putting your ownself at risk. I will not be held responsible for a broken wii or SD card. If you thoroughly listen to explaination nothing will go wrong because I got everything here the same way. If your wii freezes unplug the cord an plug it back it in.**
well first, your going to need a SD or micro SD card. I prefer u get a 2gb SD card because you'll have plenty of space to spare after I give you this tutorial. Also if you dont have a computer that has a SD card slot then you're going to need a micro SD reader that connects to USB ports. Now if you have the homebrew channel then skip this video but if you dont then download this (Before downloading this make sure you have the most recent updated version of wii, version 4.2u:

Make sure you know how to unzip files. Unzipping files are easy all you do is download a file extraction (unzip) program) I would get WinRAR. You could download WinRAR from this link, get either WinRAR x86 or WinRAR x64 (it doesnt matter):

http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

So download WinRAR, install it. Then go back to the mediafire file Hackmii + Bannerbomb and it should have a icon that looks like a purple, blue and green book is stacked on each other. Right-click it and then extract it to the name of the file, (example: extract to Hackmii installer...) after extracting a new folder should show up with the same name of the extracted file. Go inside it and copy everything from the inside of that file and paste it into the SD card but wait. B4 you do that you must have a formatted SD card meaning there must be no data on it. So if u have any data on the SD card then put it into another place like the desktop. you'll be able to get back to it later. Check to see if the SD card is formatted to either Fat16, Fat32 or Fat(default). To do this go to my computer then find your SD card it should say Removable Disk sith some type of letter next to it. Right click it and then go to format and make sure its formatted to one of the three FAT systems. After formatting then take the files inside the hackmii folder and then paste them into the SD card. now take out the SD card and put it into the wii and click the SD card on the wii menu. you should see a pop up. Press yes and then the Hackmii installer should load. Now install the homebrew channel, DVDx and Bootmii. After installing them then go back to the wii channel u should see the homebrew channel on your wii menu. now take it out and thats the homebrew channel.

  • I've followed every step in this video but when I put my SD into my Wii, it says it has found the SD but nothing shows up on the screen when I go to the SD-screen.

I've got my SD formatted, and 2 files unzipped: "boot.elf" and "content.bin" ("content.bin" is in a bunch of maps with nothing in it, except for that).

    I don't know if I have 4.2 or 4.3, though.

Can you help me on that?

  • DOES IT WROK FOR 4.3?

  • thier is also a usb port that can connect to a regular sd card

  • said same for me :'(

  • ERROR#004 FILE SYSTEM IS COURRUPT!

  • What is light? Nothing that exists in this video, learn to record.
