This piece is from Mozart's "Don Giovanni," sung by the character Zerlina to her fiance Masetto after he catches her being courted by Don Giovanni. I (Zerlina) tell Masetto that he's overreacting, and if he really expected me to run off with that sleazeball the day of our wedding, then he can beat me up right then and there. Of course, he doesn't.

I performed this at my junior recital, "Vocal Schizophrenia"--so titled because I sang Baroque, classical, jazz and musical theatre repertoire--on April 6, 2008.
