    Actually many reasons, oil being one of the main reasons, due to the fact that the american dollar is backed by oil, if all nations stopped using the dollar for oil trade, america would be be finished within a week. Strategic reasons as well, look at the positions of Afg and Iraq, now look at Libya, Syria, Yemen, etc. Geographically they have solved all problems, surrounding Iran, China, Russia, Pakistan, its a long-term plan, which people need to understand not something put together year ago.
