This video provides much more detail on the experience of using an Android device as a desktop replacement. I go over all the necessary cables and hardware, demonstrate various navigation techniques, do some gaming, and show how to get the desktop version of sites rather than the mobile version. I also demo copy and paste, instant messaging, and cover the movie-watching experience.

its better to replicate what you did with a tablet instead of an android phone, because with a tablet you have the USB input free (you plug the tablet to your monitor with the HDMI output) and the whole UI is designed for widescreen monitors and basically works out better.

the web browser is actually even better and looks and feels like the real web browser on your pc.

also at the time of this vid, opera mobile (the best web browser for mobile and pc) featured user agent selection.

Here's one limitation. Currently I'm on a crappy Wi-Fi connection at a restaurant. I have T-Mobile data but I've already hit the 4.5 GB of data transfer that I pay for each month so it slows down after that unless I pay $10 for another 2 GB. So until my monthly plan renews (tomorrow), I'm stuck on this Wi-Fi.

So relying on the mobile as an entire replacement for other connectivity won't work for everyone (especially after you consider daily youtube or other video use as becoming typical).
