The Collegiate Chorale of Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio performs "Elegy for Dachau", by Matthew Armstrong. The performance took place in the gymnasium of Cloverleaf Middle School in Seville, Ohio. This was my third conducting experience; my second with the Collegiate Chorale.

Translation for Hebrew:

"He who makes peace in HIs heights, may He, in His mercy, make peace upon us and upon His nation Israel; and say, Amen."
-Text taken from the Kaddish, the Jewish prayer of mourning.

The Collegiate Chorale of Bowling Green State University has been under the direction of Dr. William Skoog since the Fall of 2005. This tour in the Spring of 2009 concludes his tenure at BGSU. We wish him the best at Rhodes, and he will be missed.

  • Can you PLEASE do something about that soprano singing the high solo?

  • I did this song in choir and I could tell right off that the bases were off pitch. This is a wonderful song that reflects what they did at Dachau and other concentration camps during the holocaust. I also wish this weren't in a gym because the space makes recordings sound like they are vibrating with sound. I would like to give props to the soprano because it sounded like a solo. If it was a solo for that part I think the soloist should have blended more with the choir.

  • I wish I could hear this song without it being it in a gym.

  • there is one soprano that sounds good but cant blend to save her life

  • 1st Sopranos are drowning out everyone else, cannot hear 2nd Sopranos or Altos whatsoever, too much vibrato, there isn't much change of dynamics throughout, Sopranos are sliding up to their notes throughout. Overall, not a great performance, sorry.

  • can't hear altos at all...

  • @iamtharpy agreed... there's so much of it, it's wavering between pitches...
