  • The Goodies recorded this song and SOPHISTICATED BOOM BOOM in 1964. The Shangri-Las recorded these two songs in 1965. Both groups recorded for Red Bird/Blue Cat Records. George Morton produced both songs.

  • I never get enough of the "girl groups" sound. Loved it then...still lovin' it today. Thanks for showing up on YT SCP...

  • super !!!!!! Dankle !!!!

  • Ok, thanks tregaldiva for the pics I have put up a comparison video of the Goodies and Shangri Las singing the same song:-)

  • @tregaldiva Wow! Your mom. What a history. Fantastic. Would you be able to email to me aswell? I am putting up a comparison of the goodies and shangri las version of this song on my channel.

  • I've got a bit of the inside scoop AND the original press photo of The Goodies that I'd like to get to snapcracklepop so it can be posted with this. My mom was the lead singer, and it was so awesome to come across this! Thx for posting!

  • Agreed.

  • Great fun! What a fab song. I found some news re this song and the Shangs. That Shadow actually tried to release both groups as a single at the same time in different terratories but Redbird didn't agree so the Goodies (originaly the Bunnies) got the single and the Shangs got the album release on the day. The Goodies didn't get anywhere though and.. well we all know what happened to the Shangri Las. Thanks for the rare post.

  • I believe Tommy Boyce (Monkees fame) wrote

    this song.

There is a great new version of the song by

The Downbeat 5 on the new Little Steven's

Underground Garage-The Coolest Songs In The

World disc. That's how I first discovered this song.Love both the Shangrilas and The Goodies version as well.

  • This song is included in Red Bird Story 4 disc compilation, along with some other truly great songs. This ranks among my favorites, thanks for posting it!
