Most beautiful love scene in any animation ever.
-
Art Garfunkle on Scissors Cut did a sweet version of this... it's worth a listen, and you can get away with listening to it in regular company...

@A9158162 Yea! He sounds so young!

I love this movie so much! :D And the love between Amalthea and Lir makes me want love x.x I wish this stuff would happen in real life
-
Awww I love this song, especially when Lady Amalthea joins in :*) I used to have the biggest crush on Prince Lir ever. LOL. Love him! xxx

@TheZombyGrl it happens!
-
I wish i could meet someone so in love just to see that it's possible

@brainsparkles Mate, Jeff Bridges is a legend! His singing is epic, not perfect, but epic nonetheless. It's true about Mia Farrow, I' ve heard that somewhere else too. She's just not as hardcore as Jeff obviously
-
@A9158162 Apparently. If you can call that singing. Still, it's such a pretty song, it's hard to fault him for trying to sing it. And that's NOT Mia Farrow singing, according to YouTubers who are in the know(I'm just repeating what's been written on another page)!!!
it is cheesy, but i still love it after all these years. i still remember being that silly romantic lovesick chick stopping and starting this scene on my vcr so i can try to write down the lyrics!!!! gotta love youtube! now i can love it in secret again. :P

Except that those aren't endings. They're simply tragic events. An ending with a touch of sadness to it can be much more powerful than a happy ending, if used correctly - in part because it reflects life more closely, but also because it is reassuring to know that even if some pain still remains, the good that exists because of that pain makes it endurable.
