Moon rise taken using a Panasonic GH1 and an Opteka 650-1300 mm ultra zoom lens. This is the same lens that is sold sometimes as a Bower, Falcon, Samyang, Phoenix or Rokinon. Here it is at 650 mm which is 1300 mm equivalent on the GH1. Video has been sped up by a factor of 8.

  • Dude that's amazing. I also have a GH1, hacked, where did you buy this one ?

  • @studioolympe I haven't hacked mine yet. Probably will soon. The lens is pretty cheap. Abotu 250 bucks, you might be able to get it cheaper. It's an Opteka 650-1300mm, which is sometimes sold under different brand names (look at the info section.) Google it to find sellers, or look for a deal on Ebay. It's a pretty cool lens though it does exhibit pretty significant purple fringing and is hard to focus. But when you get everything to work right, it gets you so amazinlgy close!

  • This is Zeke, I think this is so cool, nice job!

  • @Soccerfreak8910 Glad you like it. I'll hope to post up a better one sometime where I can actually get the colors (Like a sunrise) before you see the moon.

  • AWESOME!!

  • Wow! Wonderful!

  • Awesome.

  • Great video keep up the good work.

  • @martinkard To be honest I really can't comment on the performance. The weather here where I live in Australia has just sucked for the last couple of months and I only bought this lens to take shots of the moon. Been cloudy just about every night there has been a full moon. It is difficult to focus as the focus ring is so far forward on the body, but hey for $250 what do you expect.

  • @ozdocoman yea man.. i was just wondering.. does't give any performance..?

  • Fantastic Cory!

  • mrcorypoole,

Just got one of these lenses, Pheonix anyway. What do you mean by "hack". I Googled it and found nothing. Does it improve the performance of the lens or something?

  • Really cool

  • nice!!
