  • This is one of the most amazing pieces of music I have ever performed.

It was really quite difficult for me to sing it in the beginning as I got completely choked up listening. Simply beautiful.

  • This man is amazing, he isn't all uptight and serious as you would expect from a composer, he was actually a fun guy to sing with, my school and a neighboring school got to sing the Requiem in Carnegie Hall in June, it was an amazing experience, let me tell you, if you want an autograph from him, have fun with that, he gave 5 minute breaks and always had to delay people off to the next break and the one after, etc.

  • @rahrahkadybugg this is a german choir, so they are singing the latin in the germanic style, a sort of germanic latin, which is to diphthong the "e" instead of the correct latin pronunciation of "eh" (e.g. reh-queim v. ray-quiem). Notice also how they don't have a "ch" sound in "luceat" but pronounce it with an "s" sound.

  • @sweetyates we sing "reh" as well. I think it is the correct Latin.

I love this piece soooooo much <3

  • We sing it R-e-h instead of R-e-e. Which one is proper?

  • This is an amazing piece of music that i like but i went to the east troy community choir and camerata mixed in and it was amazing! I was going to cry and the music combine with the song was utterly amazing

  • The "e" sounds are a bit off; if I remember correctly, in Latin it should be more of an "eh" sound...but besides that, wonderful blend and wonderful performance! I sang this piece in university, I love it!

  • I remember singing this at a November choral concert with 3 different choirs at school. What an amazing experience and we were lucky enough to be asked back again 2 years later. Still makes me emotional remembering the reasons we were singing it

  • HARP!!!!!!!! i love it

  • John Rutter has such a beautiful soul and heart to be able to write directly to

a person's inner being. I want this Requiem played at my funeral because it

is heavenly music. Thank you John Rutter.

    Sincerely,

    Marion Cawood

  • So much moving memories are taking me over when I listen to this Requiem. I wish I were back on the stage, singing it!
