The Pit (1981) was filmed during a time when many films were made about the concept of evil children. In this Canadian Horror, Jamie is a 12 year old boy viewed upon as a bit of a outcast, and finds solace by talking to his Teddy bear, much to the chagrin of his parents, and babysitter who are beginning to think he may developing some serious psychological problems. So when he finds carnivorous ancient trolls living in a pit close to his home he keeps it a secret. He considers them friends and aids in feeding them by providing live victims, generally people who have been cruel to him.. His secret crush on his babysitter, leads him to prove to her that their existence is real.

  • Love this movie :)

  • @ryuouji Well, it could've been RELEASED in 81, but FILMED a few years earlier than that ( that was often the case with movies back then as I understand ).

  • @BenBassPlayer84

The other movie was Hellgate. I have that two-pack.

I've only recently finally finished it and can safely say: I never will again.

Luckily, The Pit is awesome enough to make the whole thing worth it.

  • Holy Crap! I remember this scene, I saw this on TV when I was a kid, I remember the creepy kid saying "tralalag" or what ever he calls them

  • 1981 and this kid is dressed pretty 70s-ish. Just look at those bellbottoms, the turtleneck and the bowl cut!

  • @BobbyDrake2000

Likely because it featured a bunch of nudity they'd have to cut out, which would leave the movie kinda useless.... and possibly because it really isn't that bad a movie. ;)

  • @VisionofOrion well, not all remakes are awful. I mean, the movie you compared this movie to, "little shop of horrors" was way better than the 1960's one....granted the 1960's original was made in 2 days for a joke but still, the remake is much better known. Who knows, we can hope.

  • @GamaScythe When did Fooly Cooly come out?

  • @16shogunelitegreen Please, in the name of God, if you do, don't make the characters not notice a twenty-foot hole in a clearing.

  • Love this movie. Used to have it on a two pack with this really awful 80s horror movie that I couldn't watch all the way through.
