Good Aikido ! This is the kind of Aikido to be called Real. Although some people think this is brutal, this is a martial art. As a martial art is supposed to defeat the opponent using the techniques. If one think is possible to defeat a real threat using " interior ki " he is fooling himself.
-
He is actually in charge to teach Aikido at international convention. So I`m sure he has the experience to use these techniques against bigger foreigners too.

wouldn't work a bit on drunk Russian in a bar...probably he would even get raped

Great video - but not for the reasons the uploader alvinthanhk123 things, lol! Some people really don't have a clue about the heritage and original teachings of Aikido...
-
to the original uploader: you clearly know far less than you think you do about aikido.
-
I liked this video not because I agree with the uploader's comments, but because this is real pre-war Aikido, not dancing or believing that "inner energy" will protect you against an opponent aiming to kill.
-
From the beginning he is having perectly control over the situaition, and are perfectly leading uke, why then in the end throw him so hard, like he his throwing the disgusting contents of the garbage can out of a window

Vaya puto animalaco.

@GojuBob You are right...Really Aikido is about peace and harmony..but it is a Martial Art...So this is the best way to show the energy of Aikido!

What parts of it seemed brutal? I kept watching but I couldn't see... the throws seemed very clean and smooth to me and uke seemed very competent to take them. In my own experience it's not mainly being thrown with a lot of force that's dangerous, it's more about the angles you're thrown at, how suddenly or sharply the joints are twisted, that kind of stuff.... If the throw is clean and smooth and in the 'right' direction, you can take pretty hard throws without getting hurt.
I thought this was a brilliant demonstration. What do you want - fancy dancing? This video, surely, in an answer to all those who say that aikido doesn't work 'for real'. Uke took a beating. But if he didn't, everybody would say: "Yes, but this is rubbish. Look - he hardly touched him and he fell over!" Aikido just can't win with some people!

I had the pleasure of training a few days under Isoyama Shihan last year in Iwama.
He is like his aikido- sincere and serious and auenthentic.
What he shows us is aikido like it was taught to him by O´sensei the founder, because he was a very dedicated student and helped O´sensei a lot
in the years following WWII.
People shouldn´t mistake aikido from dancing,
because they have very little in common in terms of martial application.
Happy New Year
