are these bikes any good for a good workout? my questions is... is it too easy to get a good sweat on?

The Tabata Protocol on an airdyne is brutal. My whole family does them on our "off days." To get the full effect we stay above 85 RPM on each round and we don't perform any other exercises on that day.

Cool, Dale, Airdyne intervals are a great finisher. Another nice way to mix it up is to do a mile as fast as possible. Ever tried that? Our gym record is 2:24.
