@Dopplershift yeah after i said it i thought no it does repeat itself sometimes but it doesn't matter cos i think it was genius, even if i've killed it by watching it too many times

I like the league of gentlemen, not really a traditional sketch show but I can see what you mean. It does fall into some of the same traps: how is dr chinnery going to kill the pet this week? What graphic surgical details will the cab driver reveal? One-joke characters escalated to the nth degree for as many shows as you can get on air. I liked it though, the narrative aspect helped and the characters were far more developed than Mitchell and Webb's 'what if some vets had a helicopter' format.
