  • and so many people believe this shit, when are people going to learn!!!!!!!

  • It's the GEICO announcer!

  • Hehe..i remember...I also remember 40yrs of being run into debt by Liberals.

    Inspite of the GST.

  • @njam101 That is what they said. They are not mutually exclusive. Saying we need to run deficits right now and promising to balance by the budget by a date in the future do not contradict each other.

Both refer to completely different time periods, they do not cancel each other out.

  • @KevinDolin Dense? Why did they break so many promises and have many flip-flops about spending? If they would have just said we HAVE to have deficits for awhile in order to keep the country afloat, I feel that would have been more credible. Instead they keep saying they are going to balance the budget (now they're saying by 2015) when we know it likely won't happen.

I live in Northern Ontario and am not impressed with our federal government. Same with the Ontario government.

  • @njam101 You're being a bit dense. The number of countries who aren't running deficits since the global recession started can be counted on one hand. In fact, you don't even need a full hand to do it.

Canada's deficits are tiny compared to the rest of the G20 deficits. We were the first G20 country to end the recession and we are expected to be the first one to return to surpluses.

By any objective measure, Canada has done very well under this government and the rest of the world knows it.

  • @njam101 "Is our country better off?"--better than all those other countries asking for Mr. Harper's advice on economic matters.

Corruption? No--let us leave that to the experts (lie-brals).

Hoped I helped you to clarify!

  • @mikefastener Is our country ACTUALLY better off after 4.5 years of Conservative government? Record deficits, higher unemployment, record spending. Maybe some Conservatives would think so.

  • @njam101 The HUGE deficits that Iffy wanted even higher!

Yes, I am Standing up for Canada!

    And, you.....?

    Interesting question, isn't it?

  • Oh and don't forget the HUGE deficits in their plan as well!
