Geniuses at work.. a silhouette on the left side of the stage is Anton Corbijn himself..

Im hanging on your words
Living on your breath
Feeling with your skin
Will I always be here

  • Hey, like performed on Devotional, better than in the past 2 tours...

  • ..every DM Tour had its own trademark, however this one reminds me too as well as many other of those Devotional times, yet thankfully to much better and modern sound engineering, not to mention this wonderful visual wizardry of Anton Corbijn, it might just be the very Best DM Tour to date..

  • "every DM Tour had its own trademark" : this not true Jazzonni. It used to be true when Alan was with the band and he was the mastermind behind the various versions of the songs. Since Alan left DM are playing the same old versions. I'm very disappointed with the result of this concert. They look old, tired and out for the money. Gahan's 50 years of age start to show considerably and Eigner destroys the songs. They should have retired gracefuly after Exciter Tour.

This is a copy of TTA.

  • ..you are a way too harsh, and it obviously is, still stuck in an old memory, not letting go of Alan's departure. I mean, forgive me for sayin' it, but you're trying to kill a living memory.. Depeche Mode still creates brilliant music, performs it way to well for their natural aging process and they do live a trademark with each new record, we like it or not..

  • To be honest, it seems like I now live in another dimension, because when I do look back, remembering those Tours in 1990 or '93, I see myself as almost someone else, while DM evolved around their own music, yet keepin' it all together.. and I'm just indescribably happy to have this chance to see them in this new dimension performing still so gracefully indeed..

  • And for those disappointments.. I'll tell ya, during 90s I've seen Paco de Lucia perform live twice within four years. First concert was amazing, he was in London town again several years later, I was more then thrilled, only to witness an exact identical performance, wait.. not to its setlist, but to every single chord being played that other night.

  • Now, that could be called disappointment.. Not this visually amazing Tour of the Universe, it's nothing like TTA, 'cause it's a fact that we live in the world of vivid visualness, where as before it was purely the sound that was more important. It's up to each indivudu to Move on, or get stuck before one's video screens at home..

  • Alan left in 1994, incase you forgot that was almost 15 years ago. Depeche still continue to make great music, I happen to have caught the band live on the Jools Holland show at the beginning of the month it was a great show, and band looked fresh. If i look half as good as Dave when i'm approaching 50 i'll be happy. At the end of the day if you don't like the music then why bother listening to it. Go enjoy a little Recoil or something

  • am I hearing this correctly?

but if you listen closely< you can hear martin playing the guitar part that was on the new vesion of in your room.

so the song is like a blend of old and new?

see all

  • Pretty heavy words, but a stripped down DM is better than no DM.

  • Totally agree with you, this version doesn't show the real essence of the song. Though I'm dying to see them live in Argentina!!!!! Can't wait...

  • of course, it's the DARK version! :D

  • the SOFAD version is the best!!!

  • Yes, it was Alan's decision but he was pushed by Gore's monarch attitude. Alan wanted the respect and the credit he so rightly deserved. If there was anyone in the band who should write songs beside Martin was Alan , not the incompetent and artistically uneducated Gahan. Alan's departure showed how musically incomplete Gore and Gahan were. The trio DM is an ordinary band who makes money using the glorious brand "DM". Having Eigner, Philpott and Gahan writing songs for DM is a disgrace.

  • No one said you can't critize the band, everyone is entitled to there own opinion. Alan was an integral part of the band until his departure and there no denying i still miss his input on the albums. But it was his decision to call it a day and i respect him for that. Although i still fell the band are producing great music as a trio.

  • Mate, no one said that Dave is not looking good for his age. Read first then talk. I said that his age is starting to show and that is true. He's much slower and less agile. And don't tell me what i should do and what music i should hear. Just because i'm not a blindfolded fanatic sheep like you are, i can't criticize DM? Pull yourself together.

  • You call this visually amazing? All the projections of this tour are borrowing heavily from the devotional tour projections. Open your eyes mate. There is nothing original in this tour. All done before and in a better way.

  • Well bad for paco de Lucia and certainly bad for DM. Alan Wilder did an amazing job with song version for Devotional. That's why that tour is memorable and unbeatable to this day. Everybody is going to remember that tour and rightly so. who's gonna remember this crap of the universe?
